A CFO's Perspective of EA within the Enterprise
Today much is written about the importance of enterprise
architecture (EA) as a component of strategic planning and the role
of C-level executives as stakeholders in any EA practice. But what
is the reality? What level of support does EA provide to C-level
executives and how is EA viewed by these individuals?
In this week's white paper, Johann Lubbe, former Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) at construction giant Lafarge, provides one view on
this. He defines the role and responsibilities of the CFO and
discusses the reality of EA in support of this position, listing
the obstacles that block CFOs from realizing the value of EA
initiatives. He also provides guidance on how some of these
obstacles could be overcome.
