Understanding the APQC Process Classification Framework
Given the current difficulties faced by the world's economies,
many organisations are being forced to concentrate on "doing more
with less". Ultimately, this requires businesses to look closely at
their operating model and to understand their business processes in
more detail than they do now.
Process frameworks are an excellent means of helping you scope
your business process initiatives and provide best practices
against which to benchmark you process improvement efforts.
This paper touches briefly on the four most well-known process
frameworks available (APQC, eTOM, SCOR and VRM) before focusing on
the APQC Process Reference Model (PCF) and examples of how it can
be applied in the context of your project or initiative
