Capabilities for the Network Planner
A list of capabilities for the Network Planner is listed
below.
- Network diagramming environment is the familiar Visio GUI (no
background translation or conversion!)
- Network documentation & diagrams stored in the SAME
repository and therefore easily accessed and managed from a single
location.
- Simple, familiar Windows Explorer style view of content
- Diagram and documents remain in original MS format (.vsd, .doc,
.xls, .ppt) for users outside the organization
- Re-use of diagrams and shapes avoids duplicated effort and
promotes consistency
- Filtered searches allow for rapid access and retrieval of
network diagrams or component shapes (devices, servers, routers,
etc.).
- Key device information (e.g. Host Name or IP address) can be
captured against the re-usable shape objects, managed and
propagated throughout the repository.
- Relationships and links can be defined between devices (logical
or conceptual) and then used to navigate from diagram to diagram or
even device to device on separate diagrams.
