How do you become an ITIL Expert?

  • Step 1 – Complete the ITIL v3 Foundation online course and pass the certification exam to achieve 2 credits. Having proof of this certification is a prerequisite for taking any of the intermediate exams.
  • Step 2 – Prepare for and pass the intermediate ITIL Lifecycle and Capability stream examinations in order to achieve a minimum of 17 credits. With 17 credits, candidates can sit the MALC examination. Certain credits achieved with earlier qualifications and complementary qualifications can also contribute towards this number.   • Step 3 – Study the Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC) training modules and pass the examination to bring your total number of credits to 22. This will enable you to earn the ITIL Expert certification.

ITIL Foundation Examination

  • Multiple-choice
  • 40 questions
  • 60 minutes (additional time will be available if English is not your first language)
  • Pass mark is 65% or 26/40

  • Earn 2 credits on successfully passing

ITIL Intermediate Examination

  • Each intermediate exam offers a different number of ITIL credits. Please check before you start your training.
  • Complex multiple-choice exams with 8 scenario-based questions
  • 90 minutes (additional time will be available if English is not your first language)
  • Pass mark is 70% or 28/40
  • Closed-book
  • Earn 3 credits on successfully passing each Service Lifecycle module and 4 credits for each Service Capability module

ITIL MALC Examination

  • A complex multiple-choice exam with 10 scenario-based questions
  • 120 minutes (additional time will be available if English is not your first language)
  • Pass mark is 70% or 35/50
  • Closed-book

ITIL Intermediate Examination

  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or

  • Training through an Accredited Training Organization

ITIL MALC Examination

  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or
  • ITIL4 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or
  • Training through an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) and
  • A minimum of 17 credits from Foundation and intermediate levels

What is the duration of this training suite?

This training suite provides 250+ hours’ worth of training materials. This includes all the learning modules, module level assessments, revision modules, practice exams and additional reference materials that you will need to prepare for your exams.

What is the duration of access?

Learners get 12 months of access from the date of purchase.

Does the course include a manual?

The course does not require a manual.

What is an exam simulator?

The purpose of the exam simulator is to provide learners with a simulated environment for taking mock examinations before attempting the final certification exam. The mock exams are official exams provided by AXELOS. They are timed and scored on the simulator.

What is a revision module?

The revision module provides learners with a summary of the key topics covered within the course. The module also includes tips and guides that can help learners with their exam preparation.

How does the on/off tracker work?

The online tracker provides an ideal time duration to complete the course and alerts users when they go off-track. Note, the tracker is purely a ‘nice to have’ feature that works on a recommended timeframe and does not hold any impact on the duration of access.
