Introduction

TOGAF® 9.2 is a globally recognized methodology which forms the cornerstone of Enterprise Architecture (EA) initiatives in thousands of organizations. Developed by The Open Group, a body consisting of many of the world’s major IT vendors, TOGAF® is an architectural framework and standard that enables organizations to design, evaluate and build the right IT architectures.

This TOGAF® Awareness online training course has been designed to provide professionals with a basic introduction to the TOGAF® methodology. The course covers the key concepts, contexts, processes and benefits of TOGAF, as well as the competitive advantages which the framework can offer.

This course is ideal for individuals who wish to kick start their career in enterprise architecture or briefly cover the subject before pursuing a TOGAF® certification. The course provides a high-level approach to EA design, with a focus on planning, implementation and governing information technology architectures within organizations.

Benefit for Individuals

This course provides professionals with a clear introduction to the basics of the TOGAF framework, allowing them to:

  • Introduce themselves or their team to the TOGAF® standard
  • Learn a common language to enable collaboration with other TOGAF® architects
  • Promote stakeholder awareness of the values and benefits of EA
  • Gain knowledge before committing to full certification training
  • Take a decision to pursue enterprise architecture as a career

Benefit for Organizations

Having a well-defined IT architecture can help an organization to develop far more efficient IT operations, allowing it to enjoy greater returns on its existing structure and practices while also reducing risk for future investments. The main benefit of adopting that world’s best EA practice is the consistency and discipline offered by the process. It improves interoperability and customer-specific usability, reducing wastage and costs.
