The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a data protection and privacy regulation introduced in the European Union (EU) to protect individuals within the EU and European Economic Area (EEA). GDPR aims to give individuals more control over their personal data and unify regulations within the EU for international businesses. The GDPR regulation came into force on the 25th of May, 2018 requiring companies to adhere to stringent criteria in the way they process and use customer data. Failing to legally and securely use customer data can result in heavy financial penalties (the largest of either €20 million or 4% of a company’s annual revenue) and poor customer relations, which can be highly detrimental for organizations.

The best way to avoid this, as advised by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), is to raise adequate awareness of GDPR across an organization. This short online training course covers the basic concepts of GDPR, providing decision-makers with enough knowledge to be aware of its requirements and engage in further discussions with specialists within their organizations.

GDPR places the responsibility of data protection in the hands of all the individuals within an organization, including those working in Sales, IT, HR and so on. It is therefore very important to ensure staff at all levels within an organization are aware of the GDPR regulation, and that the organization can show it has taken the necessary steps towards compliance, in order to avoid penalties.

The GDPR Awareness online course briefs and prepares decision-makers and leaders on GDPR, covering the essential knowledge required to engage in further discussion with specialists and other stakeholders. The course is accessible on multiple devices, giving professionals the chance to study at their own pace in preferred locations.

Benefits for Individuals

This online training course provides professionals with adequate knowledge and skills for keeping their organizations compliant with GDPR. This EU regulation introduces various duties and roles which must be filled within an organization. The course provides clarity on the different roles and their individual responsibilities when it comes to ensuring that organizations are GDPR-compliant.

Benefits for Organizations

Holding a record of training your staff in GDPR can help your business demonstrate its compliance with the regulation. If you fail to build GDPR into your business from scratch, your staff may come into conflict with the regulation.

This online training course can help you provide your employees with a fundamental understanding of the regulation and ensure they are aware of the ramification of data misuse. This can help organizations build a strong data protection culture amongst their employees.
