Introduction

ITIL, or ‘Information Technology Infrastructure Library’, is the world’s most widely adopted and accepted framework of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices. It provides organizations with specific, actionable insight and direction for effectively managing their IT services.

There are five intermediate ITIL Lifecycle modules, of which ITIL Service Design (SD) is one. It focuses on the design of IT services, including how to design architectures, processes, policies, and crucial documentation. Service Design is key to the continued improvement and development of IT-powered services and products.

This engaging course will help anyone studying towards their intermediate ITIL qualification to succeed in the Service Design examination.

Our ITIL Service Design course is fully-accredited and delivers a comprehensive introduction to the purpose, principles, and processes of the module. It provides useful insights into the management and control of activities associated with the SD journey. Students will learn to efficiently organize and implement Service Design as part of their organization’s IT service lifecycle.

This course is accredited by PeopleCert, which is licensed by AXELOS as an examination institute for the ITIL certification training portfolio. In order to sit the ITIL Service Design exam, students must first get certified in ITIL Foundation.

Benefits for Individuals

Professionals involved directly, or indirectly, in the design and implementation of IT services can benefit immensely from ITIL Service Delivery’s best practices.

Capacity Managers, Availability Managers, Service Level Managers, Business Continuity Managers, and Service Portfolio Managers are all expected to perform an SD role. The course is also relevant to CIOs, CTOs, IT Consultants, Audit Managers, and other IT professionals involved in IT service design.

Successful students will earn three credits to go towards taking the ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle (MALC) exam. This is a mandatory step towards obtaining the ITIL Expert qualification.

Benefits for Organizations

Designing an effective service design strategy helps align the delivery of IT services with overall business operations. This course provides guidance on how to develop designs for products and services. This will help ITIL practitioners to consistently meet the immediate and ongoing needs of their organizations.
