Central Projects Repository
iServer’s central projects repository enables the project manager to analyze and manage projects running concurrently from within the familiar Microsoft Visio environment. Projects are captured within the repository, which can be preconfigured to a range of industry standards for improved governance. iServer is also PRINCE2 Project Management certified and contains a best practice reference library of processes, a preconfigured meta-model, and deliverable templates. It also includes project and program specific meta-data for project planning, financing, support and classification. Read more about iServer’s PRINCE2 support.
Capture Project Information
Project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project provide detailed information on work packages, but don’t provide the higher level strategic view of programs and portfolios and how they align to the enterprise strategy. iServer provides project reports and dashboards that capture a variety of updated project information including cost, performance, scheduling metrics, resources, progress reports and outcomes, as well organizational impact. It provides standard templates for reports on schedules, costs, and resourcing, as well as dashboards for stakeholder engagement, enabling project teams and stakeholders to collaborate. Comprehensive catalog management gives users the ability to generate and manage project, work package, and deliverable catalogs.
Project Impact Analysis
iServer’s impact analysis tools provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of projects on the wider business. Change governance enables project and portfolio managers to analyze project change, and ensure it is managed according to organization policies and procedures. Users can analyze project costs, financial forecasts, cost/benefit analysis and understand the impact projects will have on the organizations process and technology landscape. Capability maturity and risk analysis heatmaps are two examples of useful impact analysis viewpoints.
Gap and Redundancy Analysis
iServer gives project managers the ability to identify overlapping projects goals and outcomes, as well as analyze redundant projects and programs. Analyzing interdependencies ensures a comprehensive overview of the organization’s projects, and enables optimum distribution of budgets and spending.
Dashboards and Roadmaps
Project information is documented in the iServer project repository in a way that enables alignment with enterprise strategy and fits within the defined enterprise architecture scope. iServer’s project portfolio catalogs enable project and portfolio managers to manage a list of all the projects within the repository, including associated business goals, risks, impacted technology, etc. This can be used to understand project overlaps and interdependencies across the architecture and process landscape, understand the impact of change and assess portfolio performance.
