Orbus Software, a leading global provider of enterprise transformation software, today announced a strategic partnership with Eracent, experts in software asset management (SAM) and IT asset management (ITAM).

As part of the agreement, Orbus is now an authorized reseller of Eracent’s IT-Pedia®, a curated IT product data library covering millions of hardware and software products. An integration via OrbusInfinity Flow is planned for later in the year, enabling seamless enrichment of technology catalogs using IT-Pedia data.

The key features and benefits organizations can expect from this software partnership include:

  • Comprehensive lifecycle visibility: Access vendor dates, end-of-life, and end-of-support data to proactively manage risk.
  • Enriched technology inventories: Maintain accurate, up-to-date catalogs of both hardware and software assets with rich metadata.
  • Improved risk and obsolescence management: Identify vulnerabilities and outdated technologies earlier to reduce business impact.
  • Seamless integration: Planned automation via OrbusInfinity Flow will remove the burden of manual data maintenance.
  • Stronger IT portfolio management: Extend beyond application management to map and track the full technology stack.
  • Strategic decision-making: Empower enterprise architects and IT leaders with actionable insights that support business transformation.
  • Open-source catalog: Leverage a curated open-source catalog to identify components in use, assess exposure, and manage risk effectively

This partnership addresses a fundamental enterprise challenge: the difficulty of maintaining accurate, up-to-date visibility of all technologies in use. With complex and fragmented IT landscapes, and resource-strained architecture teams, many organizations struggle to keep technology inventories current – often relying on manual processes that quickly become outdated and unreliable.

IT-Pedia bridges this gap, delivering non-discoverable data such as vendor details, lifecycle milestones, product attributes, open-source status, and known vulnerabilities. Combined with OrbusInfinity’s enterprise architecture and IT portfolio management capabilities, the integration will allow organizations to better understand the technologies they use, evaluate risk and cost, and plan for change with confidence.

“Technology obsolescence and risk management are key concerns for our customers,” said Gordon Cooper, Vice President of Strategic Customer Accounts at Orbus Software. “This partnership brings together two organizations committed to helping enterprises take control of their technology landscape. By aligning with Eracent, we’re combining deep expertise in transformation planning with world-class IT asset intelligence – creating a powerful foundation for our customers to manage risk, drive innovation, and plan with confidence.”

“Technology data alone isn’t enough – it’s how that data is applied that creates real value,” said William Choppa, Eracent’s Chief Executive Officer“Our partnership with Orbus Software brings IT-Pedia’s rich product intelligence into a broader transformation context. Together, we’re helping organizations take control of their technology landscape, reduce risk, and unlock smarter strategic planning through connected, trusted information.”
