OrbusInfinity brought all architecture-related information into one place, making data accessible in real-time and enabling faster, more informed decision-making. The platform’s reporting and visualization capabilities allowed leadership to quickly assess options, evaluate risks, and implement changes with confidence.
The Challenge
The merger of Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent required integrating IT environments and consolidating enterprise architecture (EA) practices. Differences in EA maturity, system alignment, and application overlaps posed risks to NGM Group’s goals of improving customer experience, operational efficiency, and security.
To overcome these challenges, the Technology Architecture teams needed a centralized source of truth and scalable architecture management to ensure governance and deliver business outcomes during and after the merger.
The Solution
NGM Group selected OrbusInfinity for its:
- SaaS-based delivery
- Microsoft 365 integration
- Scalability
- User-friendly interface
- Customization capabilities
Replacing spreadsheets with a cloud-based platform, OrbusInfinity enabled cross-entity collaboration, consolidating applications and creating a unified business capability model for the new group. It also accelerated architecture reviews and improved data quality, driving standardization, transparency, and data-driven decisions aligned with NGM Group’s strategic goals.
The Result
Using OrbusInfinity, NGM Group achieved significant outcomes:
- Annual assessments of 600+ applications
- Consolidation of 15 enterprise systems
- Decommissioning 70+ applications, with 160 more planned
These efforts reduced costs, streamlined operations, and improved governance. The platform also fostered collaboration, transparency, and stakeholder trust, enabling rapid, data-driven decisions. Internally, it also enhanced the Architecture teams’ capabilities, supporting talent retention and positioning EA as a driver of innovation and growth.
