Orbus Software and Digiterra Cape Town Event

If you've been following our blog posts in the News category, you'll have noticed that over the last couple of years, Orbus has actively attended and held events across the globe. Owing to our recent, accelerated growth in Africa, we have made our presence known by hosting events in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Our latest and greatest event in Cape Town was what the South Africans would call, 'lekker'.  The day brought people together under the illustrious roof of the Cape Town Club to discuss all things Business Transformation and Enterprise Change.

Our Vision for Business and IT Transformation

EAM versus ALM by Charles Edwards

Our very own Calvin was the first to jump on stage to kick off the event, doing a great job presenting our market vision and how we have developed alongside our South African clients, followed by an introductory presentation from Digiterra’s CEO on their distinctive consultancy style.

Charles Edwards, an iServer champion with extensive industry experience and a good friend of Orbus provided us with a technical assessment of the relationship between EA and Software Architecture and Digiterra’s consultant Demetri explained their bespoke Echelon meta-model.

After a short break, Saad pranced around stage demonstrating how best to utilise iServer’s enhanced capabilities to deliver the most appropriate and ‘best-looking’ deliverables, I believe I heard an audible gasp as capabilities and applications alike were related and visualised live on-stage.

Our final presentation came from Joan Pournara.  Joan has worked side-by-side Orbus since we first entered the region.  Having the unlucky slot just before lunch with stomachs rumbling; this was no match for Joan's energetic session on cautioning the pitfalls of poor implementation as well as providing a frank assessment of the chaos within Business Transformation across sectors. She impressed with her deep understanding of the market and was resolute in her belief that iServer is not only the best tool but also the “fun tool”!

After a rigorous Q&A session we enjoyed a delicious lunch and appreciated the unchanging historical beauty of the building.

Overall, the event was a great success! And is indicative of Orbus's efforts to engage with customers and those interested in working with us.

Nespresso Presentation

And lastly, congratulations to Cornelia for winning the Nespresso coffee machine.

Until next time, South Africa!
