Business Process Management System

A Business Process Management System (or BPMS) is a set of applications and technologies that allow organizations to facilitate the implementation of Business Process Management. A BPMS usually allows an organization to design and implement their process providing capabilities to support workflow, applications, integration, and activity monitoring for both automated and human centric processes.

The BPMN 2.0 Specification simply defines BPMS as the technology that enables BPM.
