Key Performance Indicator

A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is a type of measurement used to evaluate elements of an organizations performance. An organization may use KPIs to evaluate its success, or to evaluate the success of a particular activity in which it is engaged.

Success can be defined in terms of making progress toward strategic goals or alternatively is the simply repeated periodic achievement of operational goals.
