XML Process Definition Language
The XML Process Definition Language (XPDL) is a format standardized by the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) to interchange Business Process definitions between different workflow and process modeling products.
Prior to the introduction of the BPMN 2.0 XML serialization standard in 2011, XPDL was the most common means of exchanging process model definitions between business process modeling tools and business process management suites.
