Happy New Year and welcome to 2019!

We're excited about a new year full of opportunities to build on what was a fantastic 2018. The start of a new year is always a great opportunity to reflect on the past, but also to look forward to the future.

That's why we want to highlight (in no particular order) some of our favourite resources and blogs from 2018!

TOGAF 9.2 Starter Pack

Launched in April 2018, TOGAF 9.2 (The Open Group Architecture Framework) is the latest version of The Open Group's Enterprise Architecture framework used worldwide to define business goals and improve organizational efficiencies. The Orbus Software TOGAF 9.2 Starter Pack proved to be a popular resource in 2018. This helpful pack contains informative posters, stencils and templates covering everything you need to know about TOGAF 9.2, and provides you with a Visio stencil to easily create attractive and TOGAF compliant diagrams.

iServer 2019 Launch Event, New York

In October 2018 we launched iServer 2019. Following the release of iServer 2017, we were listening to customer feedback and working tirelessly to bring new features and enhancements to our market leading tool. So it seemed only fitting to celebrate this exciting new step in the Orbus Software journey, by making a short hop across the pond and bringing our annual launch event to our customers in New York City!

Orbus Software's 2018 SPM Portfolio Report

In November 2018 we released the findings of our 2018 SPM Portfolio Report. Based on responses from 158 of our customer organizations, this report will help you understand the reality of how SPM is conducted in the context of different roles and use cases.

The findings will be used to inform the future roadmap of our SPM platform which aims at providing a holistic view of how to optimize portfolios and help organizations deliver on strategic IT alignment. You can read more about our SPM solution here.

ArchiMate, TOGAF and OGCs Managing Successful Programmes eBook

Another popular resource of 2018 was our ArchiMate, TOGAF, OGCs Managing Successful Programmes eBook. Managing Successful Programmes, or MSP, is the official UK government methodology for program management; UK government departments are required to use it, and local governments are strongly encouraged to.

This resource takes a look at the key ideas of MSP and how they compare or dovetail with the TOGAF and Archimate standards through the lens of a local government authority who are implementing a transformation programme based on better management of data across disparate authority systems.

The People Side of Process Improvement Blog

When a process is not working effectively or efficiently it is very useful to investigate further and understand the root causes of the problem. Process analysis can help us with this, and we’ll often find a whole range of opportunities for improvement – we might examine handovers, bottlenecks and look to remove or reduce any ‘wasteful’ activities that take place. However, there are times when our investigations confirm that the process should work just fine – but there are other factors affecting it. This blog by Adrian Reed explores the people side of process improvement.

Those were our top 5 resources and blogs for 2018! We hope that you've enjoyed the resources that we've been putting out over the past year, and we look forward to sharing many more useful resources and articles with you in 2019!
