Why Orbus

OrbusInfinity

Orbus Software Cloud Annual Recurring Revenue Grows by 77%

Graphic illustration showing upward-pointing arrows and '77% growth' text

Enterprise transformation solution provider,Orbus Software, has achieved strong revenue growth in the past year. During this period, the SaaS business grew by 77%, with a net revenue retention of 112% and a customer retention rate of more than 97%. Since receiving major investment in December 2020, the company’s SaaS platform ARR has grown by 2035%.

Over 50% of the company’s growth came from EMEA, with government and finance industries accounting for more than half of this. Within North America, manufacturing was the key contributor, and APAC saw success in the engineering, mining, and utilities sectors. This highlights that, despite ongoing economic pressures, regulated sectors continue to invest in technology to modernize their operations and reinforces the need for an enterprise transformation platform that helps master complexity and streamline decision-making.

“Orbus's continued strong growth is fundamentally driven by the value our solutions provide and the commitment of our global team,” said Gareth Burton, CEO of Orbus Software. “Our flagship product, OrbusInfinity, continues to attract new organizations and delight long-standing customers. We are committed to helping private and public organizations, across all geographies, with their strategic transformation initiatives, by providing forensic visibility into business operations and technology infrastructure through our enterprise transformation platform. Customers and analysts recognize Orbus as a trusted leader that empowers enterprises to restructure, re-imagine, and re-engineer their business processes and technology landscapes to drive long-term success.”

To support these successes, Orbus appointed a new Chief Financial Officer, Paddy Deller, in June 2023.

Following his role as CFO at ActiveOps, he aims to build on previous notable achievements including overseeing strong organic growth, two acquisitions, and guiding the company through a successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange. His background in both finance and the software industry poise him to play a pivotal role in driving Orbus Software's growth and strategic financial initiatives.

Expressing his excitement about joining Orbus, Paddy emphasized the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication he saw in the team. “During my career so far, it has always been my colleagues that have had the biggest impact on my work, and I am excited to join a great team with big ambition,” he said. “I can see that I have joined Orbus during a powerful time of success and innovation, and I’m thrilled to be part of the journey.”

Throughout the first half of 2023, the company onboarded a number of key customers to its SaaS enterprise transformation platform OrbusInfinity. These included significant gains in the North American market with Canadian energy supplier Irving Oil. The five-year enterprise-wide transformation project will establish a central source of truth to optimize decision-making and visualize information that was previously unavailable. Other wins in the region include food equipment manufacturer Henny Penny, healthcare insurance provider NextCare, residential construction firm Mattamy, and medical technology provider Medtronic.

As the cloud becomes a necessity to the operations of the majority of modern organizations and IT infrastructures, many Orbus customers are choosing to migrate from our on-premises service iServer to OrbusInfinity. Notable migrations include Japan-based global bank Mizuho that are using the cloud platform to create a central source of truth for its enterprise architecture, operational resilience, and GDPR practices, to comply with numerous industry standards. Long-standing customer US-based Alaska Airlines migrated to the cloud to democratize access to information across business stakeholders and automate workloads via surveys and intake forms.

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services also moved to OrbusInfinity to benefit from the cloud’s high level of security, and connect, manage, and rationalize its application, project, and technology portfolios.

A new Senior Vice President of EMEA Sales will support these successful new customer journeys and migrations. Alex Mathieson joined Orbus in June 2023 to lead the sales team and drive business growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

“With over 20 years of experience in software sales and leadership, I am excited to see where this new role will take me,” he said. “I hope to foster a culture of sales excellence that ensures a seamless customer experience from the first lead to contract signing.”

In addition to these successes, Orbus was recognized as a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice in the 2023 Voice of the Customer for Enterprise Architecture Tools report. The report highlighted a 'Willingness to Recommend' rating of 96%, and an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of 5, with 72% of those reviews awarding us 5 stars.

The past six months have seen significant innovation in the future roadmap of OrbusInfinity. During the company’s Navigate user group events held in May in London and New York – which saw customers discuss current successes and challenges, connect with other users on maximizing the value of the platform, and offer direct input into the product innovation roadmap – the Product team announced the first insight into the platform’s product strategy and three-year roadmap. Following the theme of ‘Intelligent Transformation’, the main motivation areas of the roadmap are:

  • Visual Exploration

  • Intelligent Automation

  • Transformation Management

  • Sustainability Architecture

  • Integration & Discovery

  • Proactive Insights & BI

“The opportunities for the application of machine learning and generative AI to enterprise transformation are hugely exciting,” said Peter Bates, Chief Product Officer at Orbus. “We see endless possibilities for innovation that redefine what an enterprise architecture platform can offer.”

Orbus will also build on its long-standing partnership with Microsoft by joining its AI Co-Innovation Labs, where it will explore key AI use cases within OrbusInfinity.

With innovation comes a renewed focus on security. In June, the company announced that OrbusInfinity had successfully completed the Australian Government’s Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment. This demonstrates its commitment to providing a secure and reliable SaaS platform to its customers.

Alongside innovation and security, sustainability has been another key theme throughout 2023 for Orbus, having launched its corporate ESG initiative – OrbAid – in May. Since launching the initiative, the company has planted 310 trees with reforestation charity OneTreePlanted and raised more than £8,000 for humanitarian aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières, through various activities including a charity run, customer incentives, and auctions.

Orbus also launched its Positive Impact Challenge, inviting its global offices in the UK, US, Poland, and Australia to take part in team volunteering activities. These included cleaning up a local forest in Katowice, supporting local orphanages, donating blood, and a community-focused cooking workshop.
